Well, it's finely poised at Stamford Bridge. And nobody is remotely happy about it.
A relatively strong start, highlighted by yet another home goal from Samuel Eto'o, was quickly marred by some second-rate goalkeeping from Mark Schwarzer - only starting because of Petr Cech's virus - and it's now a matter of whether Chelsea can actually fashion a way to win this match. A match they simply have to win.
The game proved to be supremely frustrating for the hosts following Connor Wickham's leveler, which came just six minutes after Eto'o opened the scoring. Multiple chances, some looking more difficult to waste than finish, went begging. It did not make for comfortable watching.
Yet there remains hope in the form of 45 more minutes. It'll be interesting to see what Jose Mourinho does as we move into the second half. Stay tuned.
