Petr Cech misses Sunderland match with virus

Julian Finney

Chelsea gave us all a bit of a surprise when they released the team sheet for the Blues' home game against Sunderland -- Petr Cech was nowhere to be found. Mark Schwarzer is the starting goalkeeper; Henrique Hilario is on the bench. With some huge matches coming up (and as Manchester City found in midweek, Sunderland aren't pushovers either), that was a little bit concerning. Where has Petr gone?

Fortunately Dan Levene and Chelsea TV came up with an answer quickly:

If Cech's back for Atleti, I guess we can survive a match without him in goal. I'd rather not, of course, but these things happen.
