It's been a while since we've heard of or from Oriol Romeu. The young midfielder has been off on a season-long Valencian adventure, which has consisted of equal amounts of rehab from old injuries, rehab from new injuries, and batting his eyelashes at the Valencia fans and top brass with a view to making the loan move permanent. Oh, and I guess some actual playing time as well. Though not too much: his 1372 minutes would rank between Mikel and Matić at Chelsea.
The good news for Oriol is that Valencia seem willing to enter into this permanent relationship as well, to love and cherish him til death football do them 'part. And dunk him in milk whenever appropriate and when the diameter of the glass isn't too small.
The bad news for Oriol is that Valencia aren't the ones calling the shots. The big ballers, the shot callers are Chelsea:
"...the only thing that we know is that Valencia is happy with me and would like me to carry on. I'm comfortable here but we'll have to wait until the end of the season. I have a year left on my contract and anything can happen. Chelsea is calling the shots."

That being said, my money's still on Romeu never playing for Chelsea again. And that's despite Chelsea saying in December that he may have a future at Stamford Bridge and then subsequently refusing to include him as a make-weight in the Matic rebuy. But maybe Oriol just left his iPod in the dressing room and the club needs him to come pick it up. And then he can be on his merry way.
