David Luiz continues out-of-control campaign of being an awesome person

We all know about David Luiz' work with Chelsea's Bridge Kids programme, but that doesn't seem to be enough for David Luiz. He's gone wild and got himself another charity role, this time with the UN.

In case you were in any doubt, we've received yet more evidence that David Luiz is just amazing. Not only is he a great footballer, it turns out he's just the best kind of person too. He's well-known for his role with Chelsea's Bridge Kids programme, in which he does things like this, but this week, he's taken on a new charity role. Ahead of this summer's World Cup in Brazil, The United Nations' UNAIDS initiative has tapped the Chelsea player as its Brazilian Goodwill Ambassador.

His role will be as the public face of UNAIDS' campaign to educate the public of Brazil of the issues facing the country and the problems faced by its citizens affected by the disease. The defender-cum-midfielder, who has worked with UNAIDS before, in its "Protect The Goal" campaign, had the following to say about his new role:

"I want to use this position to spread the word about how to overcome AIDS around the world,"

"People will be looking to my country Brazil to see great football at the World Cup and this is a great opportunity for [the Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) ] and I to speak out—and I want to help make UNAIDS the winning team,"

That's not all David Luiz had to say on the issue, but he said it in Portuguese, so you'll probably have to watch this video with subtitles. Unless you speak Portuguese, in which case you should still watch it, since David Luiz is just awesome.

If the sight of David Luiz speaking seriously in a suit is too much of a shock for your brain to handle, don't worry. David Luiz will always be David Luiz. Evidence, you say? Okay.
