It was bound to happen sooner or later. The rumor mill was eventually going to grind through all the rumors of Chelsea's courtship of Diego Costa and be left with nothing but the choicest, finest product. So here is Spain's El Confidencial with the tasty bits.
...according to the Spanish press El Confidencial, the London club have sealed an agreement to sign Diego Costa for a reported €60million this summer.
Reports had circulated that Real Madrid were also ready to step in, though the Santiago Bernabeu outfit have since reportedly thrown in the towel after coming to terms with the alleged existing agreement between the Rojiblancos and Chelsea.
The Spanish press claim that Roman Abramovic gave Mourinho the green light after watching Costa terrorise La Liga defences, and Chelsea have since accepted to pay a €60million clause which was recently put into place by the Atletico directors.

Game. Set. Match. Right?
Somehow, I highly doubt it. Breaking (or at least equalling) the Chelsea transfer record on Diego Costa just a year after passing on Edinson Cavani wouldn't exactly make sense to me strategically, fiscally, and on a personal level as well. Plus, maybe if we lobby to UEFA, we can get them to nullify this contractual clause as well and we can get the Atlético man for free.
Perhaps this will be the one time that the Spanish source strikes gold and the rumor proves to be true in the summer. But probably not. Still, it's like the transfer rumor equivalent of watching Supernova on a lazy Saturday afternoon. You know it's bad, but it goes oh so well with your beer and a nap.
