I recently posted a fanpost on Premier League Table and Prediction, and as I mentioned in previous parts. it is a Chelsea optimist view and hence definitely clouded by my blue tinted glass. In this post I will try to take them off and discuss possible scenarios.
This is the table that I come up with with all teams expecting to win the games outside of top 6 which is entirely possible this year with the form that the big three teams are displaying. Based on that ASSUMPTION ManCity are at 81, Liverpool are at 83 and Chelsea are at 87guaranteed points.
A lot of scenario has City coming out on top. If they win all their games, or if they lose only 1 of their remaining game, they will win the league. So to consider any other possibility of any other clubs we HAVE to assume that City lose at least 5 or 6 possible points. So from this point on Now assume City get 7 point out of possible 12 points (2W 1D 1L).
We cannot seperate ours and Citys game against liverpool because they are the most important games that will determine who wins the league. For City to lose 1 game I cannot see that happening unless they are defeated by Liverpool so lets assume it is Liverpool who will defeat City.
Liverpool will win the league if they defeat Chelsea as well as City. In this case it does not matter if City get 6 or 7 points form the possible 12.
If they draw against Chelsea and beat City then they will get 87 points Chelsea will be on 88 points and City will be on 88 points so City will win. 'However if City lose instead of drawing one of their game (6 instead of 7 points gained) Chelsea will win the league.
If Chelsea win against liverpool and Liverpool win against City then Chelsea will be on 90 points Liverpool on 86 and City on 88. :-)
So all these scenarios seem to hinge on Liverpool's game against us and against City.
One thing is for certain, and that is, if Chelsea are to win the league we cannot afford to lose or draw any more games and neither can Liverpool. ManCity are in a better position but this hinges on their ability to get 7 points out of the tough 12 available. If they don't do that, which I hope is very much possible, City will be Champions.
