If you asked me this time last week how Chelsea could guarantee winning the Premier League even if they sold Juan Mata, I would have said, 'I can't guarantee anything but if you wanted to know what would give us the best chance of winning the league... it'd be buying Arturo Vidal from Juventus'. It made sense -- Vidal is an elite, dynamic midfielder; combining him with Nemanja Matic would instantly give the Blues the best core in the league. On top of that, rumours were flying around that Juve were trying to shop him around to raise cash.
But it seems that either Juventus just didn't tell Vidal they were cool with him leaving (less likely) or the rumours were entirely wrong (much more likely). Just ask the man himself:
Will I leave? No, I will definitely stay in Turin... [The future?] I stay at Juve.

To which I say boooo. We should have just bought Vidal while he was at Bayer Leverkusen. Granted, we were never properly linked to him despite sitting on a pile of Mata money and the whole idea was enormously unrealistic in the first place, but the Chilean represented an incredible upgrade and, dammit, I wanted him. Now the dream is gone.
There is, on the other hand, a certain young man named Paul Pogba...
