A lot has been said about the Cech/Courtois situation, and i'm sure as we approach the summer we will hear a lot more.
Chelsea finds itself in a nice dilemma. We have on our books two of possibly the best 5 goalkeepers in the world at the moment. One is a club legend, a leader in the dressing room and one of our most experienced players. The other is young, immensely talented and looks set to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world for the next 10 years.
The problem is that, as they are both such good keepers, neither will be happy sitting on the bench. Not to mention, it is totally impractical to be paying two world class keepers.
If we stick with Cech, who should have 4-5 more years in him at the top level, we would have to sell Courtois on. This would mean making a big profit assuming we got something around £30-35 million for him, but then having to find a new keeper when Cech's powers have diminished.
Or this summer, we say goodbye to Petr Cech and have Courtois as our number one, unless he is happy to go on loan again.. One potential problem is that if we were to make Courtois our number one next season, is his inexperience in the Premier League. We have seen how another young keeper came from Athletico and struggled in his first season. De Gea was roughly the same age as Courtois would be..
Is a Premier League loan possible for Courtois next season? There were people saying that is what they wanted for him this season. Where would he go?
It is Summer 2014, you are the Special One. What would you do?
