Rooney vs Bale

So according to all the reports that have come out today Chelsea are looking to sign Wayne Rooney. I began to think what an FFP hit for Rooney would look like. Lets say a 25 million transfer fee along with 200K wages/week. First of all I do not believe chelsea will give Rooney a 5 year deal I think it will be a 4 year deal. So if you add the numbers up you will get a FFP hit of 16.65 mil. Which is pretty big hit. This got me wondering if the club is willing to take such a big hit why not try and get Gareth Bale. Bale is a better player and 5 years younger. I decided to see what an FFP hit for Bale would be. I first used a transfer fee of around 80 million which is the number that people believe Spurs will sell at. I decided on Bale's wage being moved from 75k/week to around 110k/week. With Bale I believe Chelsea would give him a five year contract and thus his FFP hit will be 21.72 million. So Rooney's hit was 16.65 and Bale's is 21.72. This makes me ask the question why don't Chelsea try for Bale, you are more likely to get performances that match the FFP hit especially at the end of the contract. You would also not screw up your wage scale for future extensions.

One Point I need to make is that I know it is spurs and that they hate us but 80 million is still 80 million. I frankly think Bale is much better value what does everyone else think?
