Qui tacet consentire videtur, ubi loqui debuit ac potuit.
He who is silent is taken to agree; he ought to have spoken when he was able to.
Givanildo Vieira de Souza, the Bruce Banner of football's HULK was attending a press conference on Thursday ahead of Brazil's friendly with France this weekend. Naturally, following yesterday's reports in the Mirror of a £35m bid, as well as Richard Keys' tweet from the day before that we wrote about as well, the striker was asked about the rumored Chelsea interest. I cannot find what the actual question was unfortunately, but according to The Daily Mail, this is how Hulk responded:
"If I said there wasn’t anything in it, I would be lying. But that is not for now. At the moment, I am 100 per cent focused on the Selecao (Portuguese for the Brazil team), and I hope to be a Confederations Cup winner with my country."
- Hulk, Daily Mail
Double negative; he didn't say no!
Now of course the Mail has taken this to mean that "Hulk has confirmed Jose Mourinho wants him at Stamford Bridge and has bid around £35million to lure him away from Zenit St Petersburg," which obviously Hulk did not do in the least bit. But, he did not come out and deny the interest either.
So that's something. Add him into the bag of Cavanis, Schurrles, Higuains, and Dzekos, shake it all around, and see what falls out.
