There's been a lot of fear around these parts that Belgian wonderkid Kevin de Bruyne would end up marginalised at Chelsea despite a very, very strong season in the Bundesliga. The rumour that he'd agreed personal terms with Borussia Dortmund ahead of a permanent deal didn't exactly help calm things down, either. But fear not, de Bruyne supporters -- he has at least one booster at the club:
I've seen a lot of Kevin at Werder Bremen, sometimes from the stands, sometimes on TV. I really enjoyed him. In a moderate Bremen team he always remained on his feet, without him they would probably be relegated. My advice to Chelsea? That they need to get him. I really hope Kevin gets his chance next season, he's ready.
I will certainly appeal to Mourinho.

There's never been any doubt in my mind that the club thinks highly of de Bruyne. They'll have been watching his performance at Genk and Werder Bremen (we're only 18 months from buying him, after all) and will have seen the same things as everyone else. He's a superb player and is going to contribute to this club in the future. That said, it's nice to get some confirmation after all the hand-wringing.
