Chelsea FC's brand domination of Asia

I was casually glancing at the official Chelsea FC page on FB (obviously waiting for the official confirmation) and it struck me how fast the page has grown in comparison to the other club's fanpages. In pure 'likes' we grew by almost 70% within last year and the page's contributors are mostly based in Asia. This is important as not only is Asia the fastest growing soccer fan base it also makes up the fastest growing and biggest population of any continent in the world.

If you combine the benefits of this year's off-season tour of Asia in July, with last year's Champions League victory and the Europa League this year, I believe the stage is set for the Chelsea FC brand domination of Asia. Add to that the constant media focus on us due to the impending arrival of the most well known coach in the world and it seems like there is nothing stymieing the popularity of Chelsea Football Club.

If Mourinho is able to win us some silverware next season, while severely damaging Man Utd and Liverpool in the process, Chelsea can effectively take advantage of the hyper-attention surrounding the club at the moment. We could see another wave of the Blue Revolution that we saw between 04-07.

I believe the board is surely aware of this proposition and for me Mourinho's signing is not only a brilliant footballing decision but also a great exercise in brand management. Now only if we retain David Luiz and make him captain, tell me how can any neutral ignore us?
