Interesting observations from the WAGNH rabbit hole

Read old articles is fun. I got sucked in the rabbit hole while looking for some other article.

Fun things I learnt

Stephen Schmidt suggested we buy Oscar back in 2011. (He likes Coutinho too but didn't think Inter would sell.) He knew Vidal was always awesome even though he didn't think he'd want to go to Juve. he knew Pogba was awesome too. He's officially a better scout than Alex Ferguson! He also loves gloating over Bebe with Graham.

Chelsea bought 4 guys who were awesome at the u20 world cup (Romeu , Davila, Oscar ,Omeruo)

Stephen also really likes Brek Shea. Graham doesn't. I wonder how they feel now that he's on Stoke City's bench?

Graham knew the Torres deal was insane before it happened.

Tim Palmer knows where to hit Benfica on corners. Branislav probably reads his articles.

Totally didn't know we used to have another Serbian defender. How good was he?

Glad we never got those Kaka or Pedro Leon guys. I like our current AMs and wingers better.

Observe Graham's changing views of Shurrle. P1 and P2. The whole plot here. Graham didn't rate Cavani all that much in 2010/11 and thought Hamsik would be a better buy.

Remember Mutu. I think he still owes us compensation. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

We dodged a bullet in not getting this guy.

Jose Bosingwa is so much more fun to watch when he's not on your team. His unibrow, his lack of self-awareness, his lack of defensive awareness, his aimless crossing. Everything about him is so lol. Does anyone else remember that game where Chelsea scored off a deflected Bosingwa cross at Swansea. Bosingwa's trolliest game ever.

Have your views changed on anything over the time you've been on the site?

Off the top of my head-

I once bought into the hype of Charlie Adam being the Scottish Pirlo.

I thought Kaka and Torres could eventually regain their form and be classy players again. I guess I never learn.

I though David Luiz would be an awesome midfielder.

Feel free to add an changes in views you've had or interesting observations from the past.
