I can see it happening, unravelling before my very eyes. Chelsea FC is crumbling.
To be honest with you, I don't put much effort in to these posts, but the points I make are good ones. I said at the start of the season we wouldn't win anything, but that was okay because we were just in transition. I wrote a fan post about the promise Sturridge has shown, about how we should play him as a striker. Then he went to Liverpool and has started scoring goals for fun. I haven't checked the stats but from memory I think he has actually got a goal every game he's played.
Now, forget Mourinho, he is not the best choice right now, David Moyes is. This directly contradicts what I commented on a post the other day, but I have since then come to an important realisation. Money is the biggest issue here by far. I'm not going in to details because I'm incredibly lazy, but just think about it, think about the bigger picture, take a step back and look to see where the club is headed. Our candle is burning too fast under Abramovich, and it is about to go out. All we have done is throw the Russian's money at every singly problem and now we can't do that. Unless we build a long-term, financially stable legacy with a respected manager like David Moyes, we are done being a big club.
When Abramovich leaves, if he is kind, he will leave us with a manager who know knows how work with little, otherwise we may end up with nothing. We can't even be saved by another sugar daddy owner, due to the new financial constraints put in place by UEFA. Although, I'm not sure I'd want that anyway.
Promise him stability and loyalty, stick by him no matter what and he will take the club to unknown heights. I assure you of one other thing, Brendan Rodgers will be to Liverpool what Alex ferguson has been to Man United. Moyes COULD be that for Chelsea, if we let him.
You know, he already wears blue.
