Something that's been the talk of the town lately. Courtois at the verge of his contract end, giving out interviews/day in par with saves/week, rumors of Barcelona planning to pounce. On the flip side stats flying out about Cech having a run 2-3 odd games. 7 goals conceded from 7 shots taken on target over the SSS week, caught off position for most of the goals, no saves for 268 odd minutes.
Though it's too early to slate him off saying he could be on a decline, the possibility of anything in the future has to be taken into account. Saying we let go of Courtois, agreeing to a few fans' argument of replacing Cech is disrespecting legends. What do we gain? £30-40m. What are we left with? Jamal Blackman and Matej Delac (Remember him?) as potential back up.
Blackman's shown very less promise being honest from what we've seen in the pre-pre-season games. Delac, who was touted to be the next big thing when we signed him, is now on loan at FK Vojvodina, been following his loan reports, not very promising either. Gets less minutes in a low competitive Croatian league. Insecure situation, with not many other GK prospects around.
Courtois has become too good, much to the ignorance of fans' considering selling him. From what he says, he won't take another season's loan. Which is, not very wrong from his pov, he's got the stuff to ask for a permanent role. There in the Top 5 goalkeepers in Europe along with the likes of Cech, Neuer, Buffon at just 21 that if we brought him back now, it'll be safe to say we have the two best keepers in the league. He has atleast 10-15 years of top class shot stopping to give and can only improve from here.

Is Courtois better than Cech already? Probably no because he lacks the experience of a keeper who walks out a fatal injury, producing insane saves risking his very life everytime. So where does he learn? Ofcourse from the best. Courtois may not be better/in par but he's scarily close. So much that we can't think of letting him go at 'any' cost.
Rumors are we've tabled a 6 year deal for him. Given he pens it, suggesting another season's loan should he be willing to take it or not even that, call him back, rotate between Cech and him for different competitions. Let him learn, get used to the league, then take over as Chelsea number one. Time for us to see some Thibauting. :D
