I'm not entirely sure how much to trust this report from A Bola, but if it's true Chelsea are seriously looking at bringing Colombian striker Jackson Martinez in this January. The Portuguese paper are claiming that agent Henry Pompeo* is in London meeting with Marina Granovskaia to discuss a transfer.
*I can't find any confirmation that Mr. Pompeo is indeed Martinez's agent, so bear that in mind.
My feeling is that we should take this with a grain of salt or three. A Bola are claiming that in order to acquire Martinez the Blues would have to pay his €40 million transfer fee, and that seems like a very steep price for a 27-year-old no matter how insane his scoring record in the Portuguese Liga might be. I've liked Martinez since his Jaguares de Chiapas days -- he was one of Liga MX's best players before Porto snapped him up -- but €40 million is a lot of money.
They're also reporting that Mourinho, who doesn't have 100 percent control over transfers, is more interested in Radamel Falcao. I'd expect we hear a lot more about that one as we get closer to the transfer window.
