Twenty-one Chelsea players have made the trip to Switzerland ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with FC Basel. With 23 players registered for the squad, this means that a pair of Chelsea players aren't going to be in the mix for playing time.
Marco van Ginkel has been out with injury for quite a while now, and Brazilian center back David Luiz remained in London with knee issues of his own. There is no word on the severity of the issue, but Luiz has been dealing with knee problems for quite a while now.
Both Ashley Cole and Fernando Torres have been limited of late, but both were healthy enough that they at least made the trip. I'd be surprised to see either of the pair in tomorrow's starting lineup, but I'd be equally surprised if neither of them factored into Jose Mourinho's bench.
