Wesley Sneijder to Chelsea

Luis Van Gaal wants Wesley Sneijder to move from Galastaray to improve his form for the Dutch national team and he knows that Chelsea is interested.

As well as reuniting him with the coach for who he had the best year of his career in 2010, it would also address Chelsea's lack of a deep lying playmaker. Mikel and Essien are good defensively but lack passing ability. Rambo and Lamps are great in driving forward from midfield and though Lamps can still play the odd lob, Chelsea haven't a great deep lying playmaker since Michael Ballack hung up his boots.

It leaves the playmaking squarely on the attacking band of 3 and causes Chelsea to run out of ideas when the attacking mids are bottled up. Although Sneijder played as a trequartista at Inter, at 29, he's perfectly suited to take up the role that Deco and Xabi Alonso excelled in at Porto and Madrid for Mourinho.

At 29, he'll allow Chelsea to groom one of their youngsters to take over his role in 3-4 years. However, Lampard will have to take a lesser role as a defensive shield of Sneijder and Lamps would be inviting disaster .

Sneijder to Chelsea . Good or bad move?
