Bayer Leverkusen stand firm over Andre Schurrle

If you wanted Andre Schurrle... well, I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Bayer Leverkusen have been extremely clear about whether or not the 21-year-old was going anywhere (the answer has always been no), and despite reports from England that Chelsea were making a play for him at the deadline, they're still holding firm on their promise: Schurrle is going nowhere.

Good for Leverkusen. With so little time left in the window, there's no way for them to replace either Schurrle or Lars Bender, and there's therefore no reason for them to even consider selling two of their best players. I don't think Schurrle was a great fit at Chelsea thanks to the addition of Victor Moses and Marko Marin (although he's a genuinely fantastic prospect), so I can't say I'm too cut up about this. Oh well.

Or maybe they just mean 'give us more money'. But that seems unlikely.
