I am not sure about the rest of you aussie chelsea fans, but I really cannot justify spending $60 per month on foxtel, just to be able to watch the football. I really wish I could, but it is just too damn expensive. So I am guessing that, like most of you in a similar position, you either go down to the pub to watch the games or search for streams from your favourite illegal website and hope that you can find a good quality one that is actually in a language that you understand. Well, the times, they are a changing.
Finally, Foxsports has realised that there are many people in the same positions so they are now offering an online subscription for the english premier league games only. Check it out here. They will show 4 live games per week and 45 minute highlights of 5 other games. I just signed up for it a few days ago on their $9 for 9 days trial. I watched the Man United vs Fulham match and the quality was ok. It starts out ok but will try to get better quality (similar to NBA TV if anybody has used that). The only big issue I had was that ocassionally it would freeze for maybe 15/20 seconds and then would start again.
However, when I watched the Chelsea game, it was pretty much perfect. It didnt freeze once, it was great quality and it was the same foxsports channel that you get with foxtel. I was very happy with that.
You can pay $19 per month for the service or buy the season for $79.00. I will keep you guys updated as to the quality in case you are a bit sceptical but for me, it seems pretty good. Last night, the Arsenal vs Stoke game was suppose to be live but it was not being shown. It said that it was live and click here to watch it, but when you did, it said the stream was not starting till for another 2 hours (which would mean that the stream started after the game had finished). It may be that this is still early stages as I don't think this online service was available last season, so they maybe just trying to work out some kinks still.
