Now that the Euros is over people can start to speculate who they think deserve the Ballon D'or. Names on most peoples mind when we raise this conversation will be Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, both of whom have been sensational for their respective club teams this year.
The two best players in the world in the will be Messi and Ronaldo, the order in which the come is up for argument, one that I will save for later as for now, they are primed to win the Ballon D'or. To me I feel as though the Ballon D'or has be come an award that is given to the best player in the world; so lets take a look at what the two best players in the world have accomplished this year.
Trophies: Spanish Copa del Rey
Trophies: La Liga
So out of the two best players in the world we have 96 goals, 17 assists and only two Trophies, both trophies won in Spain a place where besides the top tier teams everyone else is not so good, an argument for another day . What I'm trying to point out is the fact that both of these two players didn't accomplish much on to win the Ballon D'or> Yes they are the best players in the world, but the best players in the world didn't accomplish much. I feel as if the Ballon D'or is given the best best players, however the best players have already been reduced to a few and its up to that few to prove that they deserve the award. The award should be given to the best player who has accomplished the most, on that note I would like to mention Andre Pirlo, the man basically lead Juventus to an undefeated season in a league better, in the sense of competition between teams, than la Liga, then he lead Italy to the finals of the Euros were the lost to
Barcelona sorry I mean Spain, but at the end of the day he has accomplished more than both Messi and Ronaldo. I believe if we change the way the Ballon D'or is award we will find ourselves with different winners other than Ronaldo and Messi.
I will like to know what you guys think, there are alot of people in this community that know more than me and I will like to hear your takes on it.
