Stop blaming JT!

This post is, a sleep deprived fan's outlet for letting off some steam.

Just finished reading an article on a sports website. I don't want to reveal the name of the website or provide a link to the story and increase their page views for a pathetic point of view, in my humble opinion.

The story covers the recent Capello-Rooney fracas, where Capello blamed Rooney for his below par performance in the Euros. Capello even went on to say that Rooney only understood Scottish.

Capello was reacting to Rooney's statement, where he said the new coaching staff of England is better as 'no words are lost in translation'.

My intention here is not to cover that story, but share thoughts on John Terry. Surprised? So was I. How is JT involved in all this.

The writer of 'that' article has defended Rooney and even went on to blame John Terry. Totally unrelated to the incident. Frankly, I did not quite understand what the writer was trying to convey to the readers. Maybe it's me.

The writer has attacked Capello at personal levels. He mocks at Capello's age and his current job as a television pundit. After that, john Terry gets blamed. He added that Capello bend over backwards to please JT and put his job over the line. Now how exactly would that be rewarded. Is JT the head of FA? Not that I know off.

And to support Rooney in the spat, Theo Walcott's comments in his last book have been used. How the mismanagement of a player in the past is used to justify Rooney's words is beyond me. Maybe, the writer is trying to provide previous examples of Capello's bad coaching skills as an excuse for Rooney's woeful form in the Euros.

Surprisingly, the article has given credit to, how Capello fought with UEFA and got Rooney's 3 match ban reduced to 2 matches. If you are a three lions supporter, you have every reason to be upset with Capello. A 3 match ban could have kept Rooney out of the tournament, as admitted by Rooney himself.

That could still be allowed, if one were to stretch their imaginations. However, how is citing Capello standing up for his Captain a supporting evidence.

You would be less surprised, when you will discover, the writer is a supporter of a club, that wears red for its home games and is based in Manchester.

So how long will JT be dragged into the mud for anything and everything that goes wrong in this world?

Personally, am not a big fan of JT as a human being, after the infamous Bridge incident. But as a player, he would be my team's captain and the first player on the team sheet, everytime.

Sometimes, people tend to take players to be Demi-Gods. They are after all human and are bound to err in their judgement. This is in no way a defense for JT, but merely stating the obvious.

I breezed through that article a few more times, just to be sure I wasn't missing something and it still doesn't make sense to me, the points the writer has used to defend Rooney.

Furthermore, I have never been a big fan of, rival fans bashing opposition players and abusing them emotionally, all in the name of showing support for your own club.

Football is a game, why not just play it on the pitch and leave it for the players to decide the outcome. Why get personal?

It WAS a beautiful game just like cricket WAS a gentlemen's game. And that is how it will be etched in history, at this rate.
