If I hear…WE NEED FALCAO…one more time, I just might poop myself.(and ruin my super cool Chelsea FC boxers…not cool)
To everyone that thinks that Chelsea need to go out and buy the best, most expensive forward in the world…I am silently shaking my head. That frame of mind is exactly how Chelsea ended up in this mess with Torres. They dont need to waste 40mil on an over-priced forward who, in a few years will sell for less than a fraction of what they buy him for. That’s assuming he really is available for that price; it’s likely closer to 50mil. Abrom may as well take a good 30mil and turn it into really fancy toilet paper to wipe his golden heine. They just need someone who can get into dangerous positions and put the ball in the back of the net. At this point I would like to invoke…De Mazacar!* This season is just the tip of the iceberg. Wait until the chemistry really clicks. The link up play and ball movement will be there. All that’s missing is a finisher. Lukaku IS going to be an absolute monster and I bet he could score a respectable amount this season if we brought him back and split mins with Torres. IF in the off chance that Emenalo somehow found a way to sell Torres for a decent price, I am sure that Ba is capable of filling his shoes and more. He would be the most logical choice considering his price tag and skill set. I would also be in favor of Doumbia or Damiao for the right price, as long as they can play nice and share mins with baby Kraken. Those of you who are thinking to yourselves…What about Danny Sturridge?...he just doesn’t have the football IQ to play for Chelsea. His contract is just about up, and I could do without him anyway.
However if Abrom is that desperate to throw his money around, I would advocate the purchase of a certain defender by the name of Mats Hummels...you may have heard of him...hes really, really, really good. Possible future legend imo. Also probably not available. I won’t recommend anyone other than him because Chelsea already has the likes of Kalas, Van Aanholt and Chalobah who have star potential and may be ready to compete for first team mins soon.
Now regarding the midfield band of two...mikel and romeu can keep it together this season but next season I think romeu deserves some solid experience on loan, and Essien(i still love you) can step into that defensive mid role when mikel needs a rest. Fellaini could be useful in this aspect and would provide depth as well as a different type of threat, but considering his price tag, it may be a wee bit much for the amount of time he would actually end up on the pitch. Ramires makes great runs forward and he certainly has his uses and deserves to play. That being said, Chelsea still lack that playmaker in the middle of the field. That player who can really help the transition from defense to offense. The time has came and went for both Luka Modric and Moussa Dembele. Oscar could be a solution, but I remain skeptical until I see more of him in this role.(and possibly put on a little muscle? Jeez kiddo, eat a sandwich will ya?) A few names worth mentioning, regardless of price, available or not…Tony Kroos, Joao Moutinho, Nuri Sahin, Mario Gotze, Kevin Strootman. Other noteworthy players who could make an impact….David Alaba and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
Regarding John Terrydactyl and Super Frankie Lampard...mad love and respect for the legends that you are, and as hard as this is to say, it might be time to move on. I would be extremely happy to see one or both of them play here in the states for the Galaxy or Red Bulls, where I can watch them in person, and one day be able to tell my children that I may have breathed the same air as these Chelsea and England icons.
*(This will be our attacking band of three next season, with the ingredients of KDB, OscRawr, Hazard, and Mata…….just add Moses!)
I decided to write this as I wallow in darkness, without power. Hurricanes suck.(Sandy you B****) Since my laptop is about to run out of juice, I will conclude my ramblings and post this when I get a chance. Thanks for reading.
