Realistic, Clear Headed, and smart don't describe newspaper rumors. So with that, lets get started.
Neymar: This the first Neymar rumor since he nearly joined Real Madrid a little while ago. The people at Santos just don't seem willing to let him go even with a 40 million plus offer and the relief of having his wages of the bill. I can't blame them his merchandise and image sales have to be through the roof. So it's very unlikely that we will make any sort of move for him.
Mario Gotze: The price quoted is 33 million which I think is very cheap for the kind of player he is. However, as Graham noted, there is absolutely no reason for Borussia Dortmund to sell considering their current situation (which is good). At this point, Hazard is more likely.
Edison Cavani: With Napoli's rather impressive inking of Eduardo Vargas the Cavani rumours kept rolling through. Napoli aren't looking to sell though so it's going to take a Torres-like blitz to get him, a more likely player from Napoli is Lavezzi.
Joao Moutinho: Some rumours came in saying Villas-Boas will do a proper raid of Porto to take Moutinho, Don't see this happening with Ramires emergence as a brilliant option in the midfield and Essien's return to the lineup. That being said, I love the spelling of the name Joao.
Didier Drogba: Reports are saying that Drogba will join Anelka in Shanghai. Not sure about this one personally, Drogba has shown this year that he is very capable of still playing at a very high level, but Shanghai would be able to give us a good transfer fee is we complete the deal in January.
Alvaro Pereira: A move for Pereira has just recently been ruled out by F.C Porto. Perhaps that's for the best considering the cost it would take to bring him in. (Note: AVB also has given a nice endorsement of Ryan Bertrand)
Jack Rodwell: I'm all for a move for the Everton youngster. He has tremendous versatility and could be a real asset to our midfield and defense. The quoted price right now is 20 Million which is pretty low for young English talent. (Note: It appears AVB has ruled us out with a couple of quotes)
Florent Malouda: Rumors leading Florent Malouda out of Chelsea have been relatively few and far between. Now, he has (apparently) emerged as a big target for Anzhi Makhachkala who would offer him 150,000 a week. As long as were compensated I don't mind saying goodbye to Florent.
Salomon Kalou: More days than not it seems Salomon Kalou is linked to a move out of Chelsea. This week the papersd say Lokomotiv Moscow will splurge for the Chelsea attacker. He's also on the list for Anzhi, but then again who isn't on the list for Anzhi? Pretty sure they're considering a move for Luxemborg.
Gary Cahill: Talk featuring Gary Cahill has once again boiled up. Really don't like him as a player but 7 million is awefully cheap for an English international. (Note: Talk has now flat out exploded and it looks very likely he'll be coming to Chelsea)
Michael Ballack: This doesn't excactly involve Chelsea but Michael Ballack might find his way to Shanghai with Anelka and (possibly) Drogba. He's out of contract in the summer.
Fernando Torres: Newly Cash rich Malaga are apparently attempted to tempt Chelsea with a 25 Million offer. How do you create that kind of rumor right after AVB ruled it out? Not going to happen. I personally would only consider a 30 million offer for Torres.
Josh McEachran: Latest reports saying that Aston Villa is joining the loan race for Josh. Still would like him to go to Swansea because of the emphasis on possession. Fulham are also apparently interested, wouldn't mind him there either.
Eden Hazard: Daily star seems to think that we'll blitz for Hazard in January. Even though I would love both, I don't think Dortmund or Lille will sell Gotze or Hazard in the winter, too much at stake for them domestically.
Milos Krasic: Landing him on loan in January would be a economically smart thing to do, however Krasic needs lots of space to play his best and wouldn't fit into the new system AVB is trying to promote. He's a good idea. but I can't help but think he's not the right fit.
Luka Modric: AVB recently ruled out a return for Luka Modric. Which is good, because I can't take any more Daniel Levy press releases.
Fernando Torres: Now he's apparently going to A.C Milan. I really hate these rumors.
Gael Kakuta: Daily Mail reports that Kakuta is going on loan to Dijon in France for the second half of the season. Good, he just needs some playing time to develop and hasn't gotten that ever since he left the reserves.
Question of the week: Will Gael Kakuta ever become a Chelsea regular?
