Chelsea News Roundup

I'm as excited as you are.
  • Carlo Ancelotti apparently wants to manage England someday. His contract with the Blues expires at the same time as Fabio Capello's England deal runs out, and Ancelotti is a much more accomplished manager than anyone else the FA could hope to hire. However, he's not English, and therefore won't be getting the job, due to the England setup's recent spate of rampant xenophobia (thanks mainly to Eriksson and Capello). We're than happy for you to stay here, Carlo. No worries. [USA Today]
  • Didier Drogba returns from Champions League suspension, but he still won't be playing against Spartak Moscow on Tuesday, as he's suffering from the most epic hangover of all time a bad fever which has kept him out of training for the better part of a week. Ramires, who picked up an ankle knock against Villa, will also not be featuring in Russia, joining Jose Bosingwa, Yossi Benayoun, Alex and Frank Lampard on the sidelines. On the plus side, Salomon Kalou is back and ready to play. [ChelseaFC.com]
  • Michael Essien will be 'rested if possible' for the Moscow match, but considering there are four fit central midfielders from which to chose, he might see time on the pitch anyway. Ancelotti is doing his best to protect Essien, whose knees have been a major problem over the past year or so, from the artificial surface. [Ealing Gazette]
  • Michael Cox, the force behind Zonal Marking, talks a little Jose Bosingwa on his weekly Chalkboard analysis piece for the Guardian. Short version: He's better going forward than our other right-backs. Also check out his comments on the way Villa's defence were set up. [Guardian]
